Creative and Expository Writing occurs at an exceptionally high level in the English Department. Our programs have been ranked 6th among the top 10 colleges for undergraduate writers by USA Today (in conjunction with College Degree.com), which described the environment in our department as "a haven for any growing writer." Ranging from creative non-fiction to argumentation, from lyric poetry to novel writing, and proceeding from beginning to advanced classes, students find an intellectual and literary culture that affords them ample opportunities to develop their styles and sensibilities as aspiring writers.
